Supporting adoptive families

CCS Adoption is a Bristol based charity and voluntary adoption agency serving the South West Region. We find permanent, loving families for children who need them, including those who tend to spend longest in the care system – older children, sibling groups, children of colour and children with additional needs.

Adoption transforms children’s lives, but the process can be tough on all those involved. Most adopted children have experienced neglect or abuse that will have a lasting impact on their wellbeing and development. The effects of early trauma and loss, such as emotional or behavioural difficulties, present challenges for new adoptive parents who can feel isolated, or doubt their ability to meet their child’s needs.

CCS Adoption offers a range of post-adoption support services, from the earliest stage (when a child joins their new family), for as long they are needed. Training, support groups, social networks and therapy help to build strong, resilient adoptive families, giving every adoption the best chance of success.
