HELP TRANSFORM LIVES IN ETHIOPIA

Ethiopiaid delivers support to people who need it the most, at a time when it will make a real difference. We work in partnership with locally led Ethiopian charities to transform lives and achieve lasting change.

Our partners’ local knowledge and technical expertise means their projects have a lasting impact for the people and communities they support.

One such organisation that has benefited from Gifts in Wills is our partner Hope of Light. Hope of Light provide surgical and reconstructive care to women who have survived childbirth with life-changing injuries such as obstetric fistula (a birth injury) and pelvic organ prolapse, leaving the women incontinent. With bespoke care, mental health support and a new dress these women have their lives transformed.

Gifts in Wills have the power to transform lives in Ethiopia and create long-term positive change. Recently, they have helped us fund new projects and scale up existing programmes. Our charity partner Hope of Light were able to establish new medical centres to treat more women. While our charity partner Wings of Healing were able to scale up their innovative ‘one stop’ cervical cancer screening programme and were able to restore maternal health services that were impacted by conflict.

Legacies, have trained midwives, supported girls to stay in school by providing them with period packs and have helped our charity partners to respond to emergency situations. Last year alone they provided medical support and food for 1,250 pregnant women and new mothers during two months of drought.

What you may consider to be a small part of your estate can help our partners to continue supporting people who really need it. The legacies we receive come in all shapes and sizes and for all kinds of reasons, but whatever the motivation, every gift made in a Will is valuable to us.
