From antarctica’s past come tales of adventure, ambition, scientific discovery and hope.

The UK Antarctic Heritage Trust is the only UK charity conserving Britain’s historical sites – the birthplace of climate science – in Antarctica.
Our conservation teams deliver specialist work to preserve six historic buildings in one of the world’s most challenging environments. This includes Port Lockroy – a small museum and the most southerly public post office in the world, with a red Royal Mail post box and 500 breeding gentoo penguins. Each historic site is a modest wooden building, but a time capsule and lasting legacy of some of the greatest stories of human discovery and courage.
Back home in the UK, we connect people with Antarctica and why it matters to us all. We engage schools, communities, creative and scientific partners to explore Antarctica’s hidden treasures, amazing lives and pristine environment. The Antarctic Peninsula is the fastest warming region on Earth. By helping people to discover and learn about Antarctica and its history, the better we can all protect it.
You can include a special gift in your will to protect the future of this special continent and its heritage. Leaving just 1% of your estate can make a real difference.
