10 May UK environmental charity Sylva Foundation teams up with TGP
The Goodwill Partnership, the UK’s leading Will-writing service for charities’ donors, has partnered with Sylva Foundation, a UK environmental charity working to ensure Britain’s woodland thrives for the benefit of everyone
Sylva Foundation’s approach to its environmental work is both innovative and pioneering. The unique, online myForest service gives thousands of woodland owners and teachers running Forest School sessions vital tools to map and manage their woodlands sustainably. People who use myForest can choose to become part of a network of citizen scientists, together exploring the challenges that face British woodlands and recommending practical solutions to woodland owners and policy makers.
In addition, The Sylva Wood Centre in Oxfordshire is an exciting new hub for small businesses and craftspeople who design, innovate or make in British wood. The Centre provides dedicated space and specialist equipment to woodworking professionals and young crafts people just starting their design careers.
The Goodwill Partnership is particularly delighted to partner with such a progressive charity and will offer Sylva Foundation’s supporters and volunteers a Will-writing service which lets them leave a legacy bequest if they wish. In return, The Goodwill Partnership will also provide Sylva Foundation with a monthly report of legacy donations made, as well as the monetary value of the donation (if permitted by the donor).
Dr Gabriel Hemery of Sylva Foundation, says: “Each new legacy will make a huge difference to our education, science and forestry project work – helping us bring 10% of privately owned woodland into management by 2021, training 2,000 more Forest School leaders to take children into the woods to learn and involving over 3,000 citizen scientists in research to influence both policy and practice. Ultimately our work is about ensuring British trees and woodlands thrive for the benefit of everyone – that’s a great legacy for anyone to leave.”
