UK Charity DEBRA joins The Goodwill Partnership

DEBRA UK, the national charity who supports people suffering from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), a potentially fatal skin condition that causes constant pain due to unstoppable blistering has today joined The Goodwill Partnership, the largest supplier of home-visit solicitor-provided Wills in the UK.

With over 5000 people living with EB in the UK, this new partnership starting in April 2020, will ensure people with EB and their families have the opportunity to make a Will in the comfort of their own home. A trained counsellor will take the Will instructions. The Will is then checked and provided direct to the supporter by a panel firm of Solicitors who can also provide legal advice if required and storage of the Will. Users of the service will also be able to leave a gift to DEBRA should they wish to do so.

Commenting on the partnership, Hugh Thompson, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at DEBRA said:

“Making a will is the only way an individual can guarantee how their assets are shared amongst family and friends as well as ensuring the beneficiaries of an estate are saved from paying unnecessary tax. We are delighted to be working with the Goodwill Partnership to provide this valuable service for our members and partners.”

Mark Jackson, Co-Founder of The Goodwill Partnership, says: We are delighted to welcome DEBRA to The Goodwill Partnership and hope that our services will help the charity plan with certainty for the future”.
