13 Nov The British Youth Council joins The Goodwill Partnership
The British Youth Council joins The Goodwill Partnership to offer low cost, best practice, home visit Will writing services to its supporters and volunteers.
The British Youth Council is the National Youth Council of the UK. A youth led charity that empowers young people aged 25 and under to influence and inform the decisions that affect their lives. Over the last 70 years the BYC has supported young people to get involved in their communities and democracy, locally, nationally and internationally, making a difference as volunteers, campaigners, decision makers and leaders.
Kira Lewis, MYP, comments, “Without BYC I would not have the confidence to campaign, scrutinise, and represent as I can. Since joining in 2014 as a Member of Youth Parliament, the BYC have given me fantastic opportunities to develop my personal skills, and I have been able to meet, and learn from, some amazing young people from every corner of the country. My youth voice journey with the BYC has taken me to wonderful places – including sitting three times in the House of Commons Chamber – and because of my development, I am now able to access new roles, including being a Governor at my College and becoming the South-West’s Procedures Group Representative for the UK Youth Parliament.”
Starting immediately, The Goodwill Partnership will offer Will-writing services to the charity’s supporters and volunteers. There is no obligation for anyone using this service to leave a gift to the BYC, but it is hoped that the initiative will help raise additional funds for BYC to continue providing opportunities and important skills to young people across the UK and through the rest of their lives.
