21 Jul Epilepsy Society – Our best testimonial yet?
We have to be very sensitive when talking about our Will-writing services, not least because Wills are an intensely private matter. For this reason we are incredibly careful in our promotional collateral and marketing campaigns. Very rarely do we highlight successes from our partner charities simply because of the privacy involved. This trust between ourselves, our charity partners and Will-writing clients is paramount to us.
So naturally we are delighted when we hear of a significant Will-writing success story that we are able to share to a wider audience. With this in mind, the latest success story to reach our Buckinghamshire Head office is from our charity partner Epilepsy Society.
Epilepsy Society is the UK’s leading provider of epilepsy services and works for everyone affected by epilepsy in the UK (approximately half a million people). Its headquarters aren’t a million miles from us in Chalfont St Peter and we were naturally delighted to hear from Laura Larrett, Epilepsy Society’s Donor Care & Direct Marketing Manager, about their recent Will-writing successes.
Here’s Laura in her own words: “Within just a few months of starting our relationship with The Goodwill Partnership, they have reported a 100% residual legacy and also two substantial pecuniary legacies from a married couple. We also know that many of our other supporters have found the home-visit will-writing service extremely helpful.”
She continues, “Providing this service makes the complex process of will-writing so much easier for our supporters and also, for the first time, enables us to build up a picture of intended legacy gifts, helping us to budget for the future of the charity.”
We’re delighted to be able to share this story, and whilst we can’t share the exact value of these Wills, we can assure readers that it’s in the many tens of thousands of pounds. PS For those who might not know, a residual legacy refers to all or part of a remaining estate whereas a pecuniary legacy is a cash gift left in a Will.
We’re thrilled for Epilepsy Society and also our other charity partners who we know are similarly prospering from their Will-writing arrangement with us. It makes travelling to work each day a pleasure.
