16 Aug We announce our latest charity partner
It’s with great pleasure that we can announce the latest charity to partner with us – The Brain Tumour Charity. Commencing immediately, the partnership will allow The Brain Tumour Charity to offer Will-writing services to its volunteers and supporters.
We already have quite a number of leading charities in the medical field including Macmillan Cancer Support, Epilepsy Society, MS Society, Spinal Research, Bloodwise, Cystic Fibrosis Trust to name just a few. Many have a two-pronged approach in that they provide support and at the same time also invest in pioneering research.
The Brain Tumour Charity is no different. Not only does it make a difference each day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families, it also funds pioneering research to increase survival as well as raising awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours. Indeed, to date it has invested over £18.3 million into groundbreaking research.
What is especially significant is that, currently, less than 2% of all UK cancer research funding is invested into brain tumours yet brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under 40. The Brain Tumour Charity therefore plays a hugely vital role in research into the condition as well as supporting those afflicted.
As its 2015-2020 strategy declares: “Working together for a world where brain tumours are defeated”.
We’re thrilled to welcome such a prominent charity to The Goodwill Partnership and we’re very much looking forward to working with them. Our low cost, solicitor-written Will-writing service will now be made available to the charity’s volunteers and supporters and whilst there will be no obligation on the part of individuals to leave a legacy, it is hoped that our partnership will generate valuable additional funds for the charity.
